LineageOS 17.1, though unofficially, has extended its support to a number of phones lately, like Asus ZenFone Max M1, Asus ZenFone Max Pro M2Motorola Moto G6, Sony Xperia Z5 Premium, Samsung Galaxy A5 & A3, Essential Phone (PH-1), etc.

And now a new lot of devices from Samsung and Nokia are getting the unofficial support of the LineageOS 17.1 custom ROM. For naive, the LineageOS ROM grants, tons of customization, security, and privacy, and developer features that you can tweak on your Android device after installing LineageOS.

Namely, Samsung Galaxy S6 Edge Plus, which was launched back in 2016 and came with Android 5.1.1 with TouchWiz UI, can now be updated with LineageOS 17.1 to get Android 10.

Moreover, devices from Nokia like Nokia 6.1, Nokia 6.1 Plus (aka Nokia X6), Nokia 7.1, have already been updated along with some other devices to Android 10, have also got the unofficial support of LineageOS 7.1.

Samsung Galaxy S6 Edge+

This unofficial LineageOS 17.1 supports SM-G928F/FD, SM-G928C, SM-G928G, SM-G928I, SM-G928S, SM-G928K, SM-G928L, SM-G9287C, SM-G928T, SM-G928W8 models of the Galaxy S6 Edge+. Thanks to Recognized Developer, ripee for this ROM.

Nokia 6.1

LineageOS Builds

LineageOS clean install :
– Boot into the TWRP linked above using the ‘fastboot boot’ command
– Wipe all partitions and format data as well
– Boot TWRP and install the latest LineageOS build and Community Vendor on both slots (Use fastboot –set-active command to change slots)
– Install OpenGAPPS package on the active slot, if you want GAPPS otherwise skip this step
– Wipe Dalvik/Cache and Reboot into System

Nokia 6.1 Plus and Nokia 7.1

The LineageOS 17.1 ROM for Nokia 6.1 Plus and Nokia 7.1 also works perfectly well and thanks to XDA Senior Member Raghu Varma for these ROMs. There are no issues related to this ROM as of now. Below is the installation guide for both the devices:

Installation procedure:

1. Boot in to twrp
2. Format data by typing yes
3. Reboot to bootloader
4. Now again boot in to twrp
5. Wipe everything
6. Now copy rom zip & twrp installer zip to phone
7. Flash the rom zip & twrp installer zip
8. Change to alternative slot
Example if you are on Slot a Change to slot b if you are on b change to a
9. Now reboot to recovery
10. Wipe all except system & vendor
11. Reboot system
