      Xiaomi Mi 8 Pro Android 10 update (Global stable) officially rolling out with January security patch and bugfixes (Download link inside)

      While most of the world continues to grapple with the effects of the COVID-19 Epidemic, no country has been hit as hard as China. Despite that, many Chinese companies continue to strive to roll out updates to their devices.

      One such company is Xiaomi. We recently saw the company rolling out Android 10 to the Global variant of the Redmi Note 8 Pro, albeit in stable Beta, and now, the same love is being extended to the Xiaomi Mi 8 Pro.

      Xiaomi Mi 8 Pro already received Android 10 update

      As of now, the Chinese variant of the Mi 8 Pro already runs on Android 10. The device got updated to the new version of Android way back in January. You can read more about that here.

      Then in February, users in some European regions claimed to have received the update along with the December patch. While not clear at the time, in hindsight, that might have been a Stable Beta rollout. More on these here.

      Little else followed those statements as not many people received the update, classic signs of a Stable beta rollout which only goes out to a limited number of eligible users.

      This time, we got an official announcement for the Android 10 Global Stable update on Mi 8 Pro device. The statement confirms that this update comes with the January security patch. The build number has also progressed from beta stable updates and this version number is 11.0.3.0.QECMIXM

      The following is the update’s Changelog;

      System
      Stable MIUI based on Android 10
      Updated Android Security Patch to January 2020. Increased system security.

      Fix : Couldnt open notification settings in the Notification shade in Second space
      Fix : Couldn’t open the Notification shade in some cases

      Other
      Fix : Images overlapped in scrolling screenshots

      As this is an OTA update, it might take a while before it is immediately available for your supported device. However, if you are not patient, you can install it manually on your Mi 8 Pro.

      That said, here is the download link to the firmware.
