      [Updated] Xiaomi MIUI 12 (Android 11) update may bring full system dark mode, 16:9 ratio display, new GUI & multiple clone app support

      Original story (published on March 12, 2020) follows:

      One of the heavy skinned OEMs, Xiaomi unveiled its 11th iteration of the MIUI custom UI back in October 2019. The MIUI 11 packed some great new features like new design elements, quick replies, ambient display, Mi Share, ultra battery saver, dark mode, etc.

      The new MIUI 11 also minimized the bloatware that used to come pre-installed with the Xiaomi devices. Now, this custom UI appeared more clean and sleek.

      Though Xiaomi is yet to update all its compatible devices with the latest MIUI 11, a new report has surfaced on Weibo regarding the upcoming MIUI 12 custom UI.

      This digital blogger, who shared this information about MIUI 12 on Weibo, states that the latest iteration of MIUI custom skin of Xiaomi will bring major features like system-wide dark mode, 16:9 ratio display compatibility, new GUI, and more.

      Moreover, the Weibo post also mentions a statement by the Xiaomi executive Cui Baoqiu, where Cui stated that MIUI 12 will be a flagship mobile OS that will directly target Apple’s iOS.

      It is said that this year Xiaomi’s MIUI 12 system will include the following major feature upgrades: full system dark mode, new graphical user interface (GUI), latest Android version (Android 11), 16: 9 ratio display for better application compatibility , Multiple clone application support, dark mode support for all system applications.

      Xiaomi executive Cui Baoqiu also said: “MIUI 12 will be a big move for Xiaomi in 2020. The MIUI 12 system will be a flagship mobile phone operating system that directly targets Apple’s iOS.

      It is still not confirmed what all features MIUI 12 will bring in for the Xiaomi devices or what is the source of this information by the digital blogger. So, we would advise you to take this info with a grain of salt.

      Talking about the release date, there is no info regarding that, but if we go by the release date of past MIUI versions, it might be unveiled anytime after June 2020.
