New updates are being added at the bottom of this story…….

Original story (published on January 9, 2020) follows:

Samsung is already gearing up for the release of its first flagship of this new decade and 2020, the Galaxy S20. Yes, this time around the brand is going with a new name set, aligning it with this new decade.

The new naming scheme suggests that we might have a Galaxy S20, S20 Plus, and a Galaxy S20 Ultra. Moreover, several renders and leaks have surfaced online showcasing the Galaxy S20 in its full glory. And the device is reportedly expected to come out at MWC 2020 in Spain.

However, one rumored feature that got everyone excited is the use of a 120Hz 2K display on the Galaxy S20. This could have been the first time Samsung is bumping the refresh rate from a normal 60Hz to 120Hz.

But, what might come as a surprise for everyone waiting for the Galaxy S20, is that, according to the famous leaker Ice universe, Samsung might have canceled the 2k 120Hz feature for its upcoming Galaxy S20.

Check out the tweet from Ice universe regarding this matter, below:

If I tell you that Samsung cancelled the 2K 120Hz function of the S20, will you buy it?

What’s more interesting is that in another tweet Ice universe claimed that the panel used for the upcoming Galaxy S20 should support 120Hz, but Samsung might have placed a software-based artificial limitation. Check out the tweet below:

Following these leaks from the leakster, some of the tweets are already deleted but, we were able to grab the screenshot which you can see below:

Samsung is considering canceling the 2K 120Hz option, still 60Hz. If this does happen, I recommend that everyone who considers buying the S20 please purchase the OnePlus 8 Pro, which will use 2K 120Hz to give you the best experience.

Let Samsung die.

In another tweet, Ice universe added fuel to this disappointment and shared that there is not going to be anything Ultra for the Galaxy S20 Ultra (new naming scheme) as Samsung has canceled some important camera functions.

In addition, in the latest test version, Samsung has cancelled some important camera functions of the S20 Ultra. “Ultra” is no Ultra.

However, this tweet was also among the few tweets that are already deleted. Taking into consideration all the leaks shared by Ice universe, if it turns out to be true then it will surely be a huge disappointment for those waiting for the Galaxy S20.

We will keep you in the loop once we have more information in this regard.

Update 1 (January 14, 2020)

In a recent development, according to the famous leakster Ice universe, the Samsung Galaxy S20 will not come with WQHD 120 Hz display option. Instead, there will be only FHD 60 Hz, FHD 120 Hz, WQHD 60 Hz.

It can now be said with certainty that Samsung has cancelled the WQHD 120Hz option of the Galaxy S20 series, leaving only FHD 60Hz, FHD 120Hz, WQHD 60Hz. this means that we can’t have the best resolution and the best refresh rate at the same time. What is your opinion on this?
