Asus, a known name in the computer market, changed its smartphone strategy over the past year or so. The Taiwanese company shifted focus on powerful and gaming phones, and thus, delivered devices such as the ZenFone 6 and ROG Phone II.

No one could doubt the hardware capabilities of these phones. However, there were questions if Asus will be able to deliver software updates in time or not to support the hardware. And, it seems, the company is proving critics wrong.

Along with pushing timely updates for bug fixes, like the one rolled around mid-October for the Zenfone 6 (sold as Asus 6z in India), the company has been releasing Android updates in time as well.

For instance, a couple of weeks back, the Taiwanese company rolled out Android 10 OS based ZenUI 6 update for Zenfone 5Z smartphone users, who registered for the public beta. Back in August, Asus first initiated the Android 10 beta program with ZenUI 6 to a small number of ZenFone 6 and the ZenFone 5Z users.

Now, the company has started rolling out a stable Android 10 update for the ZenFone 6/Asus 6z. Users on Reddit and XDA forum confirmed the rollout of the stable version a few hours back.

As of now, it isn’t clear, if it is a global rollout, but a few users have confirmed getting the update in India and the US. The firmware should be compatible with different regional variants though.

The size of the Android 10 OTA for ZenFone 6 is 809.89 MB and comes with the software version 17.1810.1910.63. As per the changelog, the update includes three main things – upgrade to Android 10, support for Google play system update and support for fully gesture navigation in display setting.

It doesn’t appear much has changed with the ZenUI, which is already on version 6. Users are expected to be okay with this as it wasn’t needed as well. Many regard ZenUI to be at par with the OxygenOS and Pixel software. Here is the download link for the Android 10 update for ZenFone 6 (or Asus 6z).
