Google surprised everyone by omitting the tradition of naming Android iterations after desserts. Days after the announcement, Android 10 went live. Along with the name, the company revamped the way they present Android (including a new logo).

Pixel phones were the first to get the Android 10 update. It was expected. Then, as expected, Essential Phone stole the second place on the same day of release . Astonishing was Redmi K20 Pro’s OTA that went live within hours in India and China.

Android 10 stable is now rolling out

Users aren’t having a smooth run with Android 10, but that’s pretty much expected from a new release, isn’t it? Lately, we reported issues with Pixel Stand, pop-up notification not showing glitch, calling problems with Verizon to name a few on Pixel devices after the update.

Essential Phone isn’t devoid of concerns as well. Those who manually flashed experienced difficulties with lock screen. However, the brand was quick enough to update the zip file and asked users to repeat the process.

Whatever the sales numbers be, Essential always stayed responsible with the software updates. Android 9 dashed into their models last year on the same day Google Pixels got it. And, they followed the same with Android 10 too.

A week into upgrading to the latest version, Essential Phone users are getting another OTA. Carrying the build number QP1A.190711.122, the package brings with it a few improvements and features. The changelog reads as below.

Enhanced Gesture Based Navigation
Smart Reply
System-Wide Dark Mode
Privacy and security improvements
Fix for VoLTE issues experienced by some users

Except for Essential and Google, almost all other brands are working on their own iterations of Android 10. That’s when the former is taking the center stage with a hotfix update. Downloading the package will only exhaust 3.7 MB of your data package.

It’s only hours after the brand released the update. Before you storm out to complain you didn’t get it, you must know OTAs go public in batches. And in case you own a carrier branded unit, it may take some more time than the ones that came straightly from the OEM.

So the ideal thing for you to do is to keep waiting. Given you have a decent internet connection, installing the patch will take only a minute or so. Happy installing!
