Among the Galaxy J series, Korean OEM Samsung recently released One UI (the company’s latest smartphone operating system interface based on Android 9.0 Pie) for Galaxy J7 Pro, J7 Nxt (aka J7 Neo) and J4 Core devices. And now Samsung Galaxy J3 Achieve is next.

To avoid any confusion, as you may know, Galaxy J3 Achieve is a device that has many versions and names depending on the carrier it embraces. The T-Mobile variant is known as Galaxy J3 Star, for Cricket it’s Galaxy Amp Prime 3, Galaxy J3 V 2018 for Verizon and Galaxy J3 Aura for US Cellular.

Commonly called Galaxy J3 (2018), Galaxy J3 Achieve is a mid-ranger fueled by Exynos 7570 Quad processor. The phone sports an 8MP rear + 5MP front camera, and comes with Android 8.0 Oreo out of the box. And like many other Samsung devices users, it awaits Android Pie based One UI’s arrival.

Couple of months back, Wi-Fi Alliance certified different variants of Galaxy J3 (2018) for Android Pie. Samsung Galaxy J3 Auro, J3 Achieve, J3 Orbit and Verizon J3 2018 got through successfully.

And now, going by the latest information that is coming from a redditor, Samsung Galaxy J3 Achieve version SM-337P on Virgin Mobile is now receiving the One UI/Android Pie update. Just in case you aren’t aware, Virgin Mobile (VM) is a subsidiary of the popular US carrier Sprint.

The currently rolling out One UI update bears build number J337PVPU3BSF5/J337PSPT3BSF5 and weighs about 1.4GB. Apart from Android Pie, it also brings the June security patch, not July though. Here’s a user shared image of the update details:

We haven’t seen many reports from Galaxy J3 Achieve users about receiving One UI, probably because the updates are rolled out in phases, and may take time to reach out to all units.

Considering Android Pie has landed on Virgin Mobile variants of Galaxy J3 Achieve, here’s hoping the same gets rolled out on other carrier-locked and unlocked Galaxy J3 (2018) models as well. Rest assured, we are keeping tab and will update the story as and when that happens.
