Xiaomi Mi A2 Lite Android 10-based August security update rolling out (Download link inside)

The Xiaomi Mi A2 Lite received the Android 10 update a few months ago after a few hiccups along the way. Since then, Xiomi has released the June and July security patches for the device. Although these new security patches didn’t bring any new major features or improvements.

However, improved security is always a good sign so we’re not complaining. Xiaomi tends to release monthly security patches for the Mi A series regularly thus Mi A2 Lite users have been waiting for the August 2020 patch to be released as well.

As it turns out, Xiaomi has indeed begun rolling out a new update for the device. This new update carries the Android 10-based August security patch for the Mi A2 Lite. The software version for the August update is 11.0.10.0.QDLMIXM rolling out as an OTA package.

Much like the previous two security updates, the August patch does not bring any new features or improvements. So users will have to make do with the enhanced security that the update offers. Further, Xiaomi has released the update only for a limited number of users at the moment.

The partial release means that you might have to wait a few days before the August update for the Mi A2 Lite arrives on your unit. Although there’s nothing interesting with the update, if you don’t want to wait for the OTA package, you can download and install the update manually via the link below:

Make sure to create a backup of all the files on your device before installing the update manually. That being said, the Android 10 update for the Mi A2 Lite was its last major OS update. The device isn’t eligible for the upcoming Android 11 update since Xiaomi only commits to two OS updates for the Mi A series.

Further, Xiaomi seems to have shelved its plans to launch a new Mi A series device, at least this year. Although, it’s probably for the best since Xiaomi has made a mockery of the Android One program.
