New updates are being added at the bottom of this story…….

Original story (published on July 30, 2020) follows:

The Poco X2, also known as the Redmi K30 4G in China released with Android 10 running alongside MIUI 11. And since Xiaomi first announced the new MIUI 12 skin in China, Poco X2 users have been waiting to receive the new update.

Luckily for Redmi K30 4G users, Xiaomi released the MIUI 12 update in June itself. However, even though the two devices are basically identical, the Poco X2 is yet to receive it. Earlier, we reported that it may get MIUI 12 in August.

This information was shared by the official Poco India Telegram group. Cut to now, it appears that Poco is indeed sticking to the August release for MIUI 12 on the Poco X2. Today, we covered the Pocophone F1 MIUI 12 update release status, and it looks like the update will roll out next week.

However, there is still no exact date mentioned for the release. But it appears that Poco X2 users will not be getting an option for early access via the usual pilot testing. Instead, the Poco X2 may just receive the stable update directly without going through the testing phase.

This could mean that MIUI 12 for the Pocophone F1 and the Poco X2 could be released at the same time or at least not far apart. We have also been tracking all reports and information for the update for the Poco X2 that you can see by heading here.

If there are no unforeseen issues, it’s highly likely that Poco X2 users will get the update within the next couple of weeks. As usual, we will continue tracking the situation and will post an update when more details become available.

In the meantime, you can take a look at our MIUI 12 update tracker to know when it arrives on your device. And on the note of updates, here’s a list of Xiaomi phones that may get Android 11.
