The Samsung Galaxy S24 series recently arrived, integrating a plethora of AI-powered features quite similar to what we have seen in the Pixel 8 Pro, which is not strange since the company implemented the Gemini Nano language and worked together with Google in the development of the Galaxy AI suite. One of the functions offered by Samsung’s latest mobile flagships is Pixel 8-like generative AI wallpapers.

That said, Samsung’s version of the generative AI wallpaper feature has a peculiarity that is not present in the Pixel 8 series: an irremovable watermark with the Galaxy AI logo. It should be noted that the logo is similar to that of Google Bard, which suggests that both companies are also sharing certain design elements for AI-related functions. The watermark is present in the lower left corner of each wallpaper, and although it is quite small, it may clash with the rest of the wallpaper.

There is no reasonable reason for the presence of the watermark

Perhaps this is a way for Samsung to aggressively promote the presence of AI in its Galaxy S24 series, but it can become a problem when you don’t have the option to remove it. The Google Pixel 8 does not include any type of watermark in its AI-generated wallpapers, so this seems like a 100% Samsung decision. Even another company like ASUS has adopted a similar (but more advanced) generative AI wallpaper feature, and the images do not include a watermark.

The inclusion of the watermark would be understandable if you could download the images to make their nature clear, but that is not the case since you can only set them as wallpaper.

Finally, another difference between the Galaxy S24 series generative AI wallpaper system compared to the Pixel 8 series is that you cannot save multiple selections to a collection, but instead it allows you to quickly switch between generated images at the same time as you see how they will look on your home screen and lock screen.
