Grab your Oppo R15x and Oppo K1 smartphones, because the Chinese OEM has commenced Android 10 (ColorOS 7) beta update early bird recruitment for both units.

As you would expect from a Chinese OEM, this Oppo R15x and Oppo K1 Android 10 beta program is currently live for users in China and is expected to make its way to other regions soon.

Previously, in one of our reports, we have highlighted that Oppo confirmed the commencement of the Android 10 (ColorOS 7) early adopters program from June 29 for both Oppo R15x and K1. And it seems like the company had no plans of delaying this, as the program kick starts right on time.

Taking a look at the official post, we get to know that a quota of 5,000 is set in total for both Oppo R15x and Oppo K1 users. Users are required to be running version C.62 in order to be eligible for this early bird recruitment for both units.

Those who have successfully registered with this early bird program will be receiving the beta update on their devices within 3 days (before July 2).

If you are interested in trying out all the new features of Android 10 (ColorOS 7) on your Oppo R15x or Oppo K1 then, you need to head over to Settings> Software Update> Settings> Upgrade early adopters> ColorOS 7 official version early adopters, fill in the required information, check the early adopters notice and privacy policy, and click Apply Now.

Although the OEM joined late, Oppo has taken this task of updating its eligible phones to Android 10 very seriously and in the recent past has served a bunch of phones with Android 10 (ColorOS 7). For a complete list, you can head here.

As far as the latest Android 11 update is concerned, Oppo Find X2 and X2 Pro have already grabbed Android 11 Beta 1 update with ColorOS 7.2. For our complete coverage, you can head here.

Talking about Android 11, as per our Oppo Android 11 eligible devices list, both Oppo R15x and K1 are missing from the list. But we would advise our readers to take this piece of information with a pinch of salt as it is not an official word from OPPO.

Update 1 (July 21)

Oppo has now increased the quota for early adopters of ColorOS 7 for the R15x and the K1.

Update 2 (June 31)

Based on details from the ColorOS 7 August Open Upgrade Plan, it appears that the Oppo R15x and the Oppo K1 will get the stable ColorOS 7 (Android 10) update in August. See the full story here.
