Original story (published on April 27, 2021) follows:

The rollout of Android 11 is drawing to its conclusion for the most part as many eligible devices have bagged their respective updates.

One of the stars in this rollout has got to be Oppo. The Chinese OEM has a lot of devices across various tiers and the efficiency with which it has managed to roll out ColorOS 11 is admirable, to say the least.

To achieve this, we have seen Oppo release monthly roadmaps for how it intended to update its devices with Beta and stable builds.

Most recently, we saw the April 2021 ColorOS 11 roadmap that listed a bunch of its devices along with when they were slated to bag the stable or Beta builds.

In the list, the Oppo A53 was listed as set to get updated to Android 11-based Beta on April 27, at least for users in India and Indonesia.

Well, true to the company’s word, today we have a few developments surrounding the said beta build.

In a post published on Oppo’s community forum, the company is inviting users of the A53 in these two regions to apply for a slot on the beta program.

Additionally, Oppo says that successful applicants will receive the version before May 11, even as users in other markets are urged to be patient.

So, you have your Oppo A53 and you’re from the supported regions of India or Indonesia. How do you apply for a slot on the Beta program? Well, here’s how to apply.

1. Confirm your phone has updated to the version (Detectable Version): A.69/A.77

2. Click ‘Settings’>> ‘Software Update’>> Click the settings icon on the screen>> Apply for Beta Version>>Update Beta Version. And then follow the guide to apply. (If the application quota is full, please wait for the next round)

We shall continue to keep an eye on this and update as and when we get more info so stay tuned. Also, be on the lookout for the May 2021 Oppo ColorOS 11 roadmap to find out if your A53 will get updated to Android 11 in May.

Update 1 (June 01)
