Google is very proud of its Pixel 8 series mobile AI-powered features and consistently shows this by making them star in many ads (1, 2, 3). Now, the company has partnered with NBCU (NBCUniversal) and the Radio City Rockettes dancers for new spots that will run during the Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade.

Google Pixel 8’s AI features will star in ads during Macy’s Thanksgiving campaign

The new ads are focused on the Google Pixel 8 series AI-powered camera features and will show the Radio City Rockettes’ preparation process leading up to their Thanksgiving Day performance. They will be using the powerful editing and creation capabilities of these devices during this particular ‘behind the scenes’.

Among the features, the ‘Audio Magic Eraser’ will take on special importance to reduce or eliminate unwanted noise when recording videos. They are also said to boast the power of the ‘Magic Editor’ to easily remove elements from images, and even change subject positions or ‘fill in’ missing parts of objects. Basically, Google wants to promote its devices as powerful content creation tools.

In addition to the Macy’s Thanksgiving live broadcast on NBC, the Pixel 8 ads will be broadcast on Telemundo (for Hispanic audiences) and the Peacock streaming service. It’s notable that NBCU, Google and Radio City Rockettes already partnered last year for the holiday campaign, so it would be two years in a row, and it doesn’t seem like it will be the last time.

Something to highlight is that the 3 ads starring the Google Pixel 8 series AI-powered features are a product of NBCUniversal’s Spotlight+ ad, a marketing offer announced this year aimed at their partners and advertisers.

The Google Pixel series will be the first to take advantage of this ad system to get great exposure during prime time on multiple channels, which is another clear example of the importance that the company is giving to marketing to gain market share.
