[Updated] Motorola Razr+ 2023 mobile network, RCS & Android Auto disconnection issues under investigation

Fresh reports suggest that multiple Motorola Razr+ 2023 users are repeatedly experiencing issues with the mobile network, RCS (Rich Communication Services), and Android Auto connectivity.

However, this is not the first time that users have faced problems with this smartphone.

For instance, we recently highlighted the issue where the Razr+ 2023 proximity sensor was not working during hardware test in Device Help menu.

Additionally, we also noted that the calendar events were not appearing on the external display.

Now, several Motorola Razr+ 2023 owners (1,2,3,4,5,6,7,8,9,10) are experiencing multiple issues while using their phone.

Those who purchased the device from AT&T in the US allege that their voice cuts in and out during phone calls. And this results in poor call quality for the recipients.

Users also allege that those on the receiving end sometimes experience high disruptions, including several seconds of dead air time.

And as per the claims, the problem cannot be resolved even after resetting the network settings and switching the SIM cards.

However, a customer claims to have gotten their phone replaced under the 14-day return window. Luckily, they have not faced similar issues on their new phone.

An impacted user even believes that the issue stems from a defective microphone or speaker.

I just got the new Razr+ phone, which is locked to the T-Mobile network. I’ve been experiencing a problem with message delivery. I got so frustrated with the problem, I just switched back to the iphone. Despite power cycling the phone multiple times and ensuring that I have all the latest updates, the issue persists.

Some people also note that the RCS implementation on carrier-locked devices leads to issues when contacting a few users.

They contend that the messages frequently fail to arrive, or are sent or received after some time. Notably, they are not facing such issues on unlocked devices that have Jibe RCS connectivity.

My new Razr+ 2023 does not always connect to Android Auto. There seems to be no rhyme nor reason for it. I have tried numerous cables except the one that came with the phone.

In addition, individuals also complain that their phones fail to connect with Android Auto time and again.

And this happens even when one has restarted both the app and the smartphone and tried connecting with different USB cables.

Some claim that they get a ‘ready for’ message along with a list of things, that they are not familiar with. And this, without a doubt, is quite frustrating and annoying.

Luckily, the Motorola support team has officially acknowledged the issues with mobile network connectivity and RCS and is actively working on fixing them.

However, there is no official word on the Android Auto Disconnection issues as of now. So, it looks like users might have to wait for a while before this glitch is fixed.

Having said that, we’ll keep monitoring this topic and update this story as and when we come across the latest information.

06:29 pm (IST): It seems that Google is working to fix the connectivity issue with Android Auto as they reportedly reached out to one of those affected regarding the same.
