A quick check further down the thread and I realize that the trick works for several other Pixel 8 Pro users as well.
It’s an easy hack, but first you must install the latest Pixel Camera update v9.2 via the Play Store. Once installed, go to your phone’s Settings > Apps > Camera and tap on “Force stop” in the “App info” section. You can also reach this section by opening the app drawer, long-press on the Camera icon and hit the “Info” icon (the one with an “i” inside a circle). You can then use this guide to enable Video Boost on your phone. But be warned that some people say it didn’t work for them, so don’t come for my neck if it doesn’t work for you. Although I hope it does.
Video Boost is here to help users capture higher quality videos with better lighting, colors, and details. It’s essentially a computational photography mode that utilizes the powerful Tensor G3 chip and AI to enhance your video recordings. But since Google is rolling it out in phases, only a handful of people have it so far.
In fact, not even having the latest December update guarantees that you’ll have Video Boost since it appears to be a server-side switch that can only be enabled by Google. So it’s worth giving this trick a shot, whether you are on the latest December update or still running the older November patch.
