Thanks to the different software based ecosystem and the Great Firewall of China, Android on Chinese phones is very much different. Before you raise your hand, let me clarify. The Chinese OEMs ship the so-called ‘global’ ROM for international markets, that’s why you can use Google services with them.

Importing phones from China is a lucrative option for many consumers due to the comparatively low price tag. Moreover, you can get some exclusive color options which are usually reserved for the home country (such as the red OnePlus 7).

The next task is quite complex: either you need to completely replace the Chinese firmware with the global firmware (e.g. OnePlus allows you to do so without much complexities) or you need to get help from random Google App installers.

Now there is a catch! In one of our previous articles, we discussed how Android Pie based EMUI 9/9.1 update from Huawei (as well as Honor) completely crippled these apps. The developers behind them either abandoned those apps or failed to find a proper loophole to exploit the installation routine.

The effects were twofold. First, a bunch of users manually downgraded their phones to EMUI 8.x. Second one is rather heavy, as there will not be any way to sideload Google apps on the upcoming Huawei Mate 30 series.

The recent US trade ban on Huawei forced the Chinese telecom giant to release the Mate 30 family of phones without Google services. As the existing Google/GMS installer apps are simply incompatible with EMUI 9.1 (and EMUI 10, by extrapolation), the future might be deranged for regular customers.

Worry not, as a new app has arrived at the game. Not all heroes wear capes, and certainly not Google Service Assistant (the name of the app). This nifty utility can successfully install everything needed to experience the Google ecosystem on your Huawei/Honor phone running Android Pie (and beyond).

Keep updating your phone to build 213 android version 9.1 you will be able to install google play by downloading the Chinese app from http://www.lzplay.net/ and running it on your phone
Follow the clicks and boom Google service is good to go.

Hiii guys!

I bought my HONOR 9X from my Chinese friend and it took me 300USD! I love it very much!!!

It looks quite nice but it hasn’t anything Google apps. Right now I will show you how to install Google service on them!

Google Service Assistance is the only way to get G-apps on HONOR 9X and other new HONOR device.

The application is running in a stable way and has not encountered any problems like crashing or bugs.

We can’t vouch for the reliability of the app, because – you know – the grey nature of these Google app installers. Always download it (package name: com.lzplay.helper) from the official source to avoid getting infected.

If you can get your hands on the Chinese EMUI 10 beta build for Huawei P30/P30 Pro, please check whether the app is working or not. Let us know by commenting below.
