After months of enduring the bizarre “shrinking keyboard” glitch, Gboard users across multiple Android devices (including Google’s own Pixel line) can finally breathe a sigh of relief. Google, while responding to complaints about the issue on Reddit, has officially acknowledged the frustrating bug where Gboard mysteriously shrinks to an impossibly small size, adding that a fix will roll out soon.

The company has confirmed that a solution is in development and will be released soon, although a specific rollout date remains unclear. It’s also not yet known whether the fix will arrive through an update to the Gboard app itself or as part of a larger system update.

Our team is aware of this issue and working on a fix rolling out soon.

Regardless of the delivery method, this acknowledgment from Google is welcome news for users who’ve been grappling with the inconvenient bug for months. The widespread complaints evidently caught Google’s attention, demonstrating the importance of users voicing their concerns about software issues affecting their device experience.

Google Pixel users are also experiencing another bizarre issue where Gboard pops up on returning to the home screen when using 3-button navigation, although only the small size issue is being looked into at this moment.
