Markets that are not controlled by carriers tend to get Samsung software updates ahead of markets like the U.S. and Canada where carriers are at the heart of the smartphone business.
This is the reason Samsung Galaxy Note 10 and Galaxy Note 10+ owners in Europe started receiving the stable One UI 2.0 update based on Android 10 in mid-December 2019.
Folks in the U.S. had to wait for about a week or so before the Galaxy Note 10 Android 10 stable update arrived, beginning with AT&T and Verizon Wireless.
The stable Galaxy Note 10 One UI 2.0 update has since been pushed to T-Mobile, Sprint, and even the U.S. unlocked models. Today, the same is happening up north, with Canadians now able to dance to the same tune as their U.S. counterparts.
We already knew about the imminent arrival of the Galaxy Note 10 Android 10 update in Canada. A couple of weeks ago, Rogers and Fido revealed that the rollout would begin soon while TELUS said it will arrive on January 6.
And indeed, a Redditor has confirmed to have received the update as version N975WVLU2BSL7 on the Note 10+. Although we don’t have confirmation for the standard Note 10, the update should arrive as version N970WVLU2BSL7.
The OTA weighs in at over 2GB and bundles December security patches.
The nature of OTA updates is that they take time to hit all units. Granted, some Galaxy Note 10 and Note 10+ owners in Canada may have to wait for several days before the download notification arrives. There is no way past this, unfortunately.
So far, the Galaxy Note 10 Android 10 update has been spotted on TELUS-owned Koodo Mobile, but more carriers should also push the update in the coming days.
