This year, Google bet heavily on the British market through a long-term partnership with England football senior teams (both men’s and women’s), in addition to direct partnerships with the FA, Arsenal, and Liverpool.

Part of this partnership includes creating exclusive content using Google Pixel devices, and a product of this is the ‘Last act of 2023’ video starring the England football team.

‘Last act of 2023’ video shot on Google Pixel published by the England football team

As its name indicates, the ‘Last act of 2023’ short video is prior to the England football team’s last match of the year, played against the North Macedonia football team and part of the UEFA Euro 2024 qualification stage. The match was played on November 20 and was tied 1 – 1, with England maintaining 1st place in their group, while North Macedonia is in 4th.

The ‘Last act of 2023’ video shot on Google Pixel is quite short (22 seconds), but in that time it seeks to offer a glimpse of the video recording, stabilization, and panning capabilities that the Google Pixel devices boast.

The video begins by following a couple of English players arriving at the stadium in the locker room area. Then, a pan of the stadium where the match was played is shown, and another pan of the hanging shirts of the England players in the locker rooms. You can watch the full video below:

Google continues to show the importance they are giving to the sports field to promote their Google Pixel devices and make them part of the mainstream. We previously covered ads made in collaboration with Toronto Raptors’ Scott Barnes and Jack Armstrong, F1 drivers Lando Norris and Oscar Piastri, and Arsenal’s women’s soccer team.
