In late 2021, Techland released Dying Light 2 as the long-awaited sequel to the hit action-survival game that arrived in 2015.

Dying Light 2 challenges you to survive in a world full of dangers and zombies. The game has received many positive reviews regarding its gameplay, setting and story, but not regarding its performance.

Dying Light 2 is a common name when talking about glitches and bugs. Here we have covered many of the issues that players have been facing since its release (1, 2, 3, 4).

Now, a new Dying Light 2 glitch causes the ‘To kill or not to kill’ quest to not appear for some players, which impacts progress (1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8, 9).

Dying Light 2 ‘To kill or not to kill’ quest not appearing for some

According to multiple reports, the Dying Light 2 ‘To kill or not to kill’ quest is not spawning or appearing where it should be.

To trigger the ‘To kill or not to kill’ quest, Dying Light 2 players must interact with an NPC. However, when some players reach the marked location on the map, the NPC does not appear.

The issue prevents affected players from obtaining all the collectible items needed to unlock all the achievements/trophies in the game.

To kill or not to kill side quest: how to spawn it? Dying light 2

Has anyone figured out what causes the subject quest to spawn? The last semi-missable collectible I need is on this quest line and nothing I have done seems to spawn it.

I’ve been checking since mission 11 all the way to the end. Coop can be hit or miss so really hoping to get this without needing to fish for a public game on the quest.

A potential workaround

That said, there is a potential workaround that could help if you are facing the same issue. Some players found a couple of conditions that reportedly cause the quest to appear:

– Don’t complete the Metro Below Fisheye so you can get the quest “Rats in the House”

– Don’t complete the Downtown Bandit Camp so kill or not to kill will spawn after completing “Rat’s in the House”
