New updates are being added at the bottom of this story…….
Original story (published on February 26, 2022) follows:
Dying Light 2 is one of the best open-world games to come out this year. Launched a few days ago, the zombie-infested post-apocalyptic title features a new protagonist.
Similar to the original Dying Light, players can move from one place to another either by parkouring or using the paraglider. But since its launch, players have reported a plethora of issues.
That being said, Dying Light 2 players are now saying (1,2,3,4,5) that the entire map fills up with smoke or fog after ending the game. Many say that it makes the game look ugly and that they cannot see anything.
This seems to be frustrating for a lot of players who are now wondering why the developers added the fog in the first place.
For those who want to explore the open world, the only way to avoid the fog or smoke is to not complete the main storyline. Below are some reports from Dying Light 2 players who are annoyed by the fog post game completion.
Please just remove the fog in some places at least after the main story, it makes the game unplayable in most areas and it doesn’t even add anything, just an annoying cloud of smoke blocking you from seeing 7 feet in front of you

After I finished the game and chose the save Lawan ending, (one where the missiles strike the city) the world is always foggy. I have a feeling it is the collapsed building but why would they make it so that it always emits smoke? Seems dumb to me. If this is a bug please let me know because it is really annoying and I almost want to start a new game and get a different ending just so I can actually see more than 15 feet in front of me. The Fog is also in Old Villedor too, basically everywhere. Also yes I did wait for a very long time and it never goes away.

Fortunately, we came across a workaround that might help fix the issue. It involves joining someone’s online game and going back to the single-player mode.
After beating the game there is fog across the entire map even inside buildings alot of the time , and it makes me not even want to play the game anymore. The only fix I have found is a temporary one which is to join a random persons online game and then leave to go back to your singleplayer game. You have to do it everytime you launch the game though and its annoying af. Also it does not get rid of the smoke in the downtown area , just the fog. will this be patched soon?

You can watch the video below if you want to fix the Dying Light 2 fog issue post game completion.
As it turns out, the Dying Light 2 Lead Designer has commented on the matter and said they will act on it.
We hope Dying Light 2 developers remove or adjust the fog post game completion in the coming days. When they do, we will let you know so stay tuned for updates.
Update 1 (March 02, 2022)
09:41 am (IST): Dying Light 2 support has acknowledged this issue and said that they are currently investigating it. However, they did not provide any ETA for the fix.
