Android 10 created history by bagging a dessert-less name and becoming the first in a decade to do so. Google has ditched the custom in order to avoid the confusion about the name among the users in various parts of the world.

As expected, Pixel users got the upgrade first, followed by Essential Phone. Then came Xiaomi, OnePlus, and Nokia. All the Android OEMs are now working relentlessly to provide the major version update to the latest flagships.

OnePlus 7 and 7 Pro already got Android 10 OTA via stable channel. When it comes to OnePlus 6/6T, things weren’t buttery smooth. First, the company announced they would release Open Beta 1 by the end of September. However, they had to cancel the plan due to the build, failing in internal tests.

Then they published another roadmap of the Android 10 OxygenOS update rollout. In accordance with that, OnePlus 6 and 6T finally joined 7/7 Pro with Open Beta 1 build. The users who are already on the beta channel should get an OTA notification. It isn’t the case for many, though.

Those who opted for the installation (both manual and OTA) are experiencing a few bugs. In case you are planning to migrate to Android 10 beta channel, you must check out the following list from the OnePlus Forum beforehand.

Known Issues:
Common Issues:
Sensors like the gyroscope, ambient light sensor and proximity sensor are not accessible. Reboot your phone again and the sensor are working again. So you have to reboot your phone twice for the full installation.
Hiding the notch is not available.
The battery life isn’t perfect.
There is extra space between the keyboard (GBoard) and bottom of the display. This is also on the OnePlus Launcher (default) present, so you can choose a third party launcher.
Smart-Display is called Contextual Display
Gestures are a bit laggy.
Fingerprint sensor is a bit slower.

Uncommon Issues (some users complaining about it; not widespread):
Google Pay doesn’t work. Maybe it’s only on the OnePlus 6T present (to be confirmed).
Network issues. Android 10 introduced random mac addresses on WiFi. This may cause the issues depending on your local network. You can disable the random mac addresses in the WiFi settings under your specific WiFi Network. The name is privacy. Issues with aptX/bluetooth audio. For me my Bullets Wireless with aptX are working fine.
Storage issues:
Internal storage not accessible via a computer.
Gallery, File Manager Screenshots are not working. Try to remove app data of the Gallery and the File Manager.
Google Chrome or Play Store crashes at downloading.

Do you want to hide the notch at the expense of having another app? Install Nova Launcher and add Nova activities widget on the default launcher itself (yes, don’t migrate to the installed one!). From the list you see next, select Notch Display beneath Settings.

Many people are suffering from proximity sensor glitch. It seems to get fixed by a simple reboot. Another trouble is the lack of Google Lens shortcut on the camera app. Multiple users reported it’s missing on their units after the update.

In short, not a single common issue is critical. But still, you may need to stay put if you want to have a bug-free device. Can’t wait? Well, you can proceed with the installation. Don’t forget to restart the phone after the completion. Most of the small glitches will disappear.
