Private beta for the Aside browser is now rolling out for Windows

Aside has started rolling out a private Windows beta of its AI browser.

The company officially posted this information on X. The post itself is rather information-sparse, merely mentioning the fact that a private beta is rolling out for Windows.

Until now, Aside has been Mac-only, and for those who want an agent that can access logged-in sites, it’s a good option. Soon, Windows users will have it as well.

For those unaware, Aside is a Chromium-based standalone browser. It’s backed by Y Combinator, and the USP is a browser that’s built for both people and AI agents. Instead of implementing AI into the sidebar like other browsers, it actually uses websites/accounts that are already in your daily use. To prevent mistakes, sensitive actions still require human approval. 

It’s pretty good at its job. After Atlas by OpenAI shut down, we mentioned Aside alongside Dia as a viable alternative. Especially now, after Dia’s AI features will soon be locked behind paywalls, Aside is a pretty strong competitor. At the time of writing, Aside still offers a freemium tier. 

Unfortunately, there’s no open or public download option for Windows. The official post just says that a private beta has begun. You’ll need to regularly watch their social media handles if you’re interested, and wait for a form or waitlist.

Considering there’s no additional information, you can treat this as early and invite-only. No date for a public release has been announced yet, and we don’t know the ETA for the stable release on Windows either.

On Mac, though, progress on Aside has been rather quick. Despite some speed and benchmark controversies, there have been various feature drops and performance improvements. Hopefully, the Windows version maintains good performance when it finally ships to the public.

Despite Aside teasing a Windows launch in August, it remains in private beta even in September.
