‼️ATTENTION ALL RBLX PLAYERS‼️
please do not purchase any robux or anything until they fix this massive banwave. people are getting banned for being linked to random accounts they dont even know. unfortunately i was a victim of this. i am a college student so i share ips… pic.twitter.com/njmCo01odD
Roblox players are facing a new wave of enforcement bans that are hitting accounts linked to others through shared IP addresses. Many users report getting banned even when they have no connection to the banned account.
The issue is affecting families on shared networks, or college/school students using the same Wi-Fi. A viral post on X described a college student who lost access to their 2017 account after it was linked to a random user on the same Wi-Fi. The player urged everyone not to buy any Robux until the problem was fixed, since it would be a waste of money.
Unfortunately, these bans come with little explanation. Roblox labels them as bans for using alternate accounts, and these automated systems appear to connect accounts based on IP addresses, Wi-Fi information, and other network data. This system of detection is not always reliable.
Innocent players on the same home or school/college Wi-Fi can get caught in the crossfire. Furthermore, appeals don’t really help. They are handled by automated systems, and users often get bot responses. It’s difficult to get a human on the other side, and users have waited weeks or months with limited success.
Similar complaints have appeared on Reddit over the past few days as well, and posts show users waking up to unfair terminations after using shared networks.
In March 2026, we covered a story about Roblox chat moderation where many accounts were terminated for vague reasons, such as “Repeated violations.” The current ban wave also follows a similar pattern, where users are randomly suspended without reason.
At the time of writing, Roblox did not issue an official statement on this problem. If you’re affected by this issue, there are some claims that Roblox may reverse the ban if you write clear messages that explain how the two accounts are not linked. If you provide details such as account creation dates, different usage patterns, etc, they might assist.
I’m hoping Roblox addresses this issue and reverses the suspensions of innocent players, since the company has otherwise been making good moves, such as increasing the qualifying DevEx by 42% for 18+ users. We covered that here.
