A new ban wave is hitting Roblox players, and they’re getting a ‘repeated violations’ notice. The cause is non-specific, and the platform just labels it as ‘Other.’ Several people have opened their account pages only to see a notice about community standard violations.

The note reads “Your account has been moderated following repeated violations of our Community Standards,” but players haven’t done anything wrong. They haven’t noticed any detailed report of the exact violations, either.

A popular Roblox news account (4Lulzy on X) posted a screenshot, and the replies were flooded with others reporting the same problem. One player shared information about his ban, where Roblox ignored the appeal until the 30-day window closed. Another user received an email with incorrect reasoning and faced the same type of account ban. Several developers and long-time players confirm similar random bans.

Roblox account termination notice.

Usually, Roblox only escalates repeat offenders to a complete termination. The system groups past chat bans or minor issues under one generic label. Unfortunately, appeals aren’t working here since Roblox takes way too long to actually respond, or sends automated and generic responses.

Forum threads show painful examples of people losing 10-year-old accounts with limited items. A few creators have even tried to archive their UGC items to try to comply with Roblox’s terms, but the bans still have not been lifted. In severe cases, Roblox even bans you from creating alt accounts and applies device restrictions.

Post on Reddit describing the recent bans.

I don’t really understand the reason for the new ban wave, but Roblox is using a lot more automated tools to flag users. These are bound to make mistakes. These random bans feel sudden to players, and they lack any clear warnings. Roblox is actively facing lawsuits, and this ‘over moderation’ is probably their way of proving that they’re actually doing something.

Community members are now warning players to avoid chatting in certain games to avoid being banned by mistake. Several support tickets have now piled up, with no real fixes in sight. Roblox has not officially issued any statement regarding this ban wave yet. If you have an account with a lot of ‘legacy,’ I’d suggest being careful until this whole thing passes. I hope Roblox offers more transparency regarding its bans in the future.
