According to multiple reports piling up online, CapCut is having a rough time right now. Users across the web say they have lost access to Pro features, are getting kicked out of their accounts, and can’t export anything. The complaints started rolling in since late yesterday and have not fully stopped.

The r/CapCut subreddit has a thread that sums it all up. People say the app stopped recognizing their Google accounts, their active Pro subscriptions just disappeared, and exports stopped working. Some tried to re-subscribe as a workaround and found the payment options were greyed out entirely, so there was no quick fix available.

Whether on Mac, Windows, or Chromebook, the common error message showing up was “network error, try again later,” even for people with fast, stable connections.

Mobile users seem to be faring better, with some still able to access Pro on the app, but the online editor and desktop versions were largely broken. That said, not everyone has the same luck. A few other users report they can’t use the mobile app either. Downdetector tracked the biggest spike in reports coming from California, Florida, and Texas.

CapCut did respond on X, confirming the issue was tied to a problem at an Oracle data center. The company posted that an issue with Oracle’s infrastructure was “impacting some parts of the CapCut U.S. user experience” and that some users may temporarily experience lags while Oracle works to fix it.

Oracle itself acknowledged the problem separately, saying customers in the Ashburn region were seeing “connection timeouts, errors, and increased latency” and that they were working to restore normal operations. Many users, however, said problems dragged on well past the initial reports, with some still locked out hours later.

CapCut, along with TikTok, went down on January 25 this year in a separate incident that stretched out for over a couple of days due to a similar data center outage. So let’s hope it doesn’t extend into a multi-day outage again.
