Update 28/01/26 – 10:16 am (IST): TikTok USDS Joint Venture has announced that while “significant progress” has been made in recovering U.S. infrastructure, users may still experience technical issues, specifically when “posting new content.”
Original article published on January 26, 2026, follows:
Many TikTok creators are running into a problem with their posts. New uploads are either getting stuck under review for hours or showing zero views even after they appear to go live.
Multiple creators in a Reddit thread on r/socialmedia describe the same issue. Videos that normally post immediately are sitting in review for over an hour, and even when they finally go live, the view count stays at zero.
Some say they checked their profiles from alternate accounts and realized those videos aren’t showing up at all, even though they look posted from the main account.
One creator on X says their edit has been under review for seven hours. Another posted five videos throughout the day and all of them are sitting at zero views despite having a decent-sized following. Someone else mentioned never seeing anything like this in seven years on the app.
TikTok Studio isn’t working right either. Analytics won’t load for some users, while others are seeing completely wrong data or zero views on videos that are clearly getting likes. Stories are showing zero views even when people are actively engaging with them.
Downdetector caught over 35,000 reports around 4 am ET, mostly about the app itself not functioning properly, rather than just feed or login issues. By Sunday afternoon that number dropped to around 4,600, but plenty of creators say they’re still stuck with broken uploads.
This is happening at the same time the For You Page started acting weird, showing people random AI content and repeating the same videos instead of their usual personalized feed.
I suspect this broken FYP could be why some creators aren’t getting any views on their videos, since their content isn’t being exposed to their audience. But it’s also possible that it might be a glitch preventing the stats from being updated.
TikTok just closed its Oracle deal on January 22, handing US operations to American investors while ByteDance kept about 20% ownership. No one knows yet if the posting problems are related to backend changes from that transition, but creators who rely on consistent posting schedules to stay in the algorithm’s good graces aren’t happy about losing an entire day of uploads.
