New updates are being added at the bottom of this story…….
Original story (published on April 04, 2022) follows:
In a world full of fast-paced Battle Royale titles like Apex Legends, Fortnite, and Call of Duty Vanguard, some prefer realistic games like Escape from Tarkov.
Developed and published by BattleState Games, the game has been in closed beta since 2017. One of the most unique features of the game is that players lose all their gear and weapons if they die during the raid unless it’s insured.
While the game is enjoyed by many, issues such as the silent nerf to Aquamari and performance issues on the Lighthouse map have negatively affected the gameplay experience.
And as if these weren’t enough, Escape from Tarkov players are now saying (1,2,3,4,5) that they are irritated by a ‘Server connection lost’ issue.
Some say (1,2,3,4,5) they get an ‘Anti-Cheat Connection failed’ error, suggesting that the problem might have to do something with the in-game anti-cheat system.
While this might sound like a connection issue, the number of people having the problem suggests otherwise. Players have already tried common solutions such as switching to an ethernet cable, restarting and resetting the game and their internet connection but the issue persists.
What’s up with the servers again? I can’t even shoot AI on like 50m+ because they’re lagging that bad. I checked my Inet, restarted router, checked other games. Everything seems to be normal. Is it better to play on US servers while located in the EU or what’s he deal? I don’t wanna run into PMCs like this cause I won’t be able to hit them. No Cable, just TElekom . Anybody experience with manually changing dns ‘n shit to like cloudflare or such?

Been playing Tarkov for a few years now — never experienced what I’m seeing now.Almost every raid — about 15-20 minutes in (low ping) I will be disconnected from the raid with the error message “Anti-Cheat Connection Failed, Please Restart game” — I can reload back into the raid without having to restart my game — and the same thing will happen around 15 minutes later. I experience the same behaviour when I do actually restart the game. After reconnecting twice, my character will be stuck in place and I will be disconnected almost immediately. This happens on both scav and PMC raids.

Unfortunately, Escape from Tarkov developers (BattleState Games) are yet to comment on the issue where players are getting disconnected due to ‘Server connection lost’ error. We hope the developers take a look at the issue and fix it as soon as they can.
Until then, we will be keeping tabs on the matter and update this article as and when required so keep checking this space for updates.
Update 1 September 05, 2023
01:33 pm (IST): The issue still persists within the game, and there has been no official acknowledgment from the developers regarding the server connection errors. However, players have identified a potential reason behind these connection issues. According to their observations, the server becomes overloaded due to the presence of PMC’s, scavs, and scav players, which is negatively impacting the connection. (Source)
