New updates are being added at the bottom of this story…….

Original story (published on January 04, 2022) follows:

Call of Duty: Warzone is one of the most popular Battle Royales games with millions of players worldwide. Successor to COD Black Ops Cold War 2, it is the first free-to-play online multiplayer game in the series.

Developed by Raven Software, the game recently received a huge update that brought in several new features along with the Caldera Map.

However, the sailing hasn’t been smooth since soon after the update, players reported server disconnection issues. A few days later, many said that they were unable to melee anyone on Caldera.

Suffering from various other issues apart from the aforementioned ones such as the game crashing and freezing, Warzone players are now demanding that the developers bring back Verdansk while keeping Caldera.

People say they are tired of the bugs and issues plaguing the game since the Caldera update. Many say camping has become a real problem with others agreeing that Caldera is indeed a huge and boring map.

I want Verdansk back. Almost all the POI are terrible, the map is wide open but with trees and leaves covering campers. A FOV Slider would be nice, doesn’t matter if it makes everything blocky so I could see the roof campers proning. I wish the ADS Aim Assist is increased by %5. Man they haven’t even updated the “Preparing for Season 1” text. I got a 100MB patch 2 hours ago and it fixed nothing.

Bring back verdansk and roll back the update until u fix this mess. The game has way too many bugs atm and it’s literally unplayable on console it stutters and lags. Ppl have gone from camping in houses to camping in bushes lmao my console cannot differentiate between a player and a tree both look like sticks ..there are way to many trees and if ppl wear green camo they blend with the surroundings way to easy.As things stand it’s better to stay out in the open than in a house or behind a house with actual cover. Also whose bright idea was to give free self revives to everyone…

As it turns out, there are currently two petitions on demanding that Raven Software bring back Verdansk. One has around 2.8k signatures at the time of writing whereas the other one has around 800 signatures.

You can sign these petitions by clicking here and here.

If we look at the Last Hours of Verdansk event, it is highly unlikely that the map will be back. It is quite logical considering the fact that the COD Warzone map hasn’t changed since its launch in 2020.

But looking at the number of bugs and issues surfacing after the update, we hope Raven Software gives users the option to switch between Caldera and Verdansk.

Update 1 (April 06, 2022)

10:44 am (IST): A developer has pointed out the consequences of bringing back Verdansk to Warzone. And here’s the complete statement:

More from TeeP’s chat with devs: about rotating Verdansk & Caldera. Technical issue: adding it means players have to reinstall the full game, then rotating to different map, download full game again. Would cause players to stop playing b/c of having to re-download massive files. (Source)

Update 2 (August 29, 2023)

11:55 am (IST): According to a reputable insider, Verdansk, the popular map in Call of Duty: Warzone, might return in early 2024.
