Here’s the crux of the article in video form:
Discord is a well-known messaging app that was initially created for gamers, but it has since gained popularity among many other communities.
In order to improve user experience, the platform is updated frequently, and new features are also added. While some tweaks are welcomed by the community, others are not as much.
For instance, we previously highlighted how the ‘Soundboard’ feature sparked conflicting views. We also saw a number of reports from users a while ago demanding file upload size to be increased.
Discord ‘markdown feature removed or missing’
Several Discord users (1,2,3,4,5,6) have now taken to various social media platforms to report that the markdown feature has suddenly been removed or gone missing from their servers.

New Markdown removed
The new markdown with hyperlinks and headings were removed froma server I was in. Are they not doing it?

Interestingly, Discord had just released Markdown, a straightforward plain text formatting tool that helped people make their words stand out. However, the feature’s sudden disappearance has left many perplexed.
Some users are now having trouble using the (heading) headers and hyperlinks as the markdown is seemingly not working anymore.
Users are understandably annoyed by this and are pleading with the developers to reinstate the feature.
Official acknowledgment
Fortunately, Discord has responded to the matter concerning the missing/removed Markdown feature. The team is currently investigating the issue but no ETA has been shared as yet.

We hope that the developers take these reports into consideration and re-enable the feature at the earliest.
We’ll keep tabs on the latest developments and update this article as and when something noteworthy comes up.
