Here’s the crux of the article in video form:

Developed by ByteDance, TikTok is a social networking platform that focuses exclusively on videos. It is known for popularizing the short-form video format.

While TikTok closely resembles Douyin, the features available are not identical in any way. The platform passed the 1 billion monthly active user mark in a span of just three years and is one of the fastest-growing brands in the world.

That said, users recently complained about bugs such as the ‘Following page’ disappearing for some. And now, many TikTok users are saying they get more likes on their videos than the number of views.

Some thought it was an issue on their part and tried reinstalling the app and clearing the app data and cache but the problem persisted. Here are some reports from TikTok users who have been getting more likes on their videos than the number of views.

Anyone get “low” views but alot of likes/comments? I always thought the ratio should be 10:1 for view to likes. Past couple months I get a lot of likes and comments but my views don’t match. Like my latest vid in the first hour right now has 16,000 views and 4300 likes. And then I have other posts with 134000 views and 20000 likes and so on..

Vids getting more likes than views. For context my account is around a week old with 1k followers and I get around 200 views and 60 likes within my first 45 mins to hr of posting but the past day or so only 1 of my posts have gone over 50 views after being up for over 3 hours. What’s even weirder though is that my views would be lower than the amount of likes on the post, for example I’d post an edit and it would get 30 views but 36 likes. Anyone found a fix to this?

TikTok users are wondering if the algorithm is broken at the moment. While the developers are yet to officially comment on the matter, we came across some potential reasons why this might be happening.

A couple of users said it might be because of spam bots liking the videos without playing them, thereby resulting in more likes than views.

Others said the analytics sometimes takes up to 72 hours to update which might explain the discrepancy in the likes-to-views ratio.

Also, a few days ago, TikTok users complained about the analytics for views and interactions being bugged and not updating, which might also be the reason why users are facing the problem.

Whatever the reason might be, we hope TikTok developers take a look at the issue and fix it as soon as possible. As always, we will be updating this space as and when we come across more information so stay tuned to PiunikaWeb.
