Developed by Bethesda Softworks, Fallout 76 is the latest installment in the Fallout franchise released in 2018. The game has gradually evolved to become one of the best RPGs over time through constant updates.

Having said that, updates do not always improve the gaming experience and sometimes they may also carry bugs and issues. Several Fallout 76 players have been reporting various issues with the game ever since it was released.

Some recent bugs include Popcorn machine missing on C.A.M.P. build menu, weekly challenges getting marked as completed, trick and treat icon appearing when it shouldn’t and many more.

Fallout 76 fast travel bug causes black screen

And now, a section of Fallout 76 gamers is reporting (1, 2, 3, 4) yet another issue with the game where fast travel bug causes the game to stuck at loading or shows a black screen.

The fast travel feature allows players to instantaneously move to distant places in the game in no time. But with this feature broken, gamers can no longer use it.

In the recent past, a similar issue with fast travel not working was also reported by Borderless 3 players on PS4. And now it seems that the same thing is affecting Fallout 76 gamers too.

Here are some reports for reference:

As title says, I tried fast travelling to my mate as I thought he was at the top of the world, however he said he is under fort atlas. It black screens during loading and even after resetting the game I can’t load up that character so what can I do?? (Source)

Since Saturday, every 5 or so time I fast travel, I get a black loading screen that eventually freezes and forces me to dashboard and restart the game. Is anybody else having a similar experience on xbox? (Source)

Players say that when they try to fast travel to their friend or any other place across the map, a bug causes the game to freeze. As a result, they end up on a black screen or get stuck at the loading screen.

Those gamers are then kicked out to the game’s dashboard where they are left with no other option than restarting the game again. This is frustrating since gamers aren’t able to use fast travel in the game.

Try this workaround

Bethesda Softwork is yet to acknowledge this bug and we hope that it gets fixed soon. In the meantime, you can also try the below-mentioned workaround suggested by one of the affected players and see if it helps.

Happened to a friend of mine. He made a new character logged in and out with it and switch back to his main and it seemed to fix it (Source)

Rest assured, we will update the space down below with the latest information as and when anything new comes up, till then stay tuned.
