It’s pretty clear that the Xiaomi Redmi Note 10 Pro/Pro Max has one of the most impressive specifications in its price range, if not the best. Whether it’s a Snapdragon 732G processor or a 108MP camera, the device has it all.

Another feature that makes the Redmi Note 10 Pro stand out is its 33W fast charging. This has been advertised as pumping up the device’s battery from 0 to 100 in just about 74 minutes.

However, as it stands, this claim is seemingly only on paper and actual charging speeds are much more slow, at least for most Redmi Note 10 Pro users:

manu, solve heating problem on Redmi Note 10 pro. solve 1 hour 50 minutes full battery charge on redmi note 10 pro…33 watt charger but so much time for charging. and biggest problem is that your team is not optimizing Snapdragon 732G.

Hi can you please tell me, is there any improvement in charging speed after the new update, my Redmi note 10 Pro max is taking more than 2hrs to charge it fully, what about your device?
Source

As clear from the above, the Xiaomi Redmi Note 10 Pro takes a minimum of 1 hour 50 minutes to charge fully from zero, although there are several complaints stating that it even crosses the 2 hours mark.

This is over 45 minutes from the claimed timing of 1 hour 15 minutes which is definitely not the standard for a 33W charger.

Now, it would’ve been excusable if the Note 10 Pro had packed a massive 7000mAh or so battery. But as it stands, the device is energized by a 5000mAh one which is pretty modest by today’s standards.

But what is more bothersome is the fact that the complaints about slow charging have been making rounds since the day the device hit the shelves.

And even though several updates have rolled out ever since, there hasn’t been any improvement on the matter.

We previously highlighted how the Redmi Note 10 Pro’s first MIUI build became available even before its release. Following this, the device bagged a major update last month bringing along several fixes and some new features.

Heck, the device even bagged the MIUI 12.5 update last week, but just like previous updates, this too hasn’t made any improvement:

However, the current MIUI 12.5 build is limited to India and is a Mi Pilot one meaning that a stable update is yet to widely roll out.

When it does, we are hopeful that it will bring about the much-needed fixes for Redmi Note 10 Pro slow charging issue.
