OxygenOS 11 Open Beta 7 for OnePlus 8/Pro brings Feb security patch, fixes Horizon light issue, & more
OnePlus’ new latest custom skin on top of Android, Android 11-based OxygenOS 11, hasn’t been without its fair share of drama in the few months it’s been around.
The rollout of the stable build to OnePlus 8 devices was marred with bugs and issues, some of which the company has managed to address over time.
The company has been treading very cautiously over this period and following the October 2020 rollout of OxygenOS 11 for the OnePlus 8, it’s not been until March 2021 that we’ve seen another device bagging a stable OxygenOS 11 build.
OnePlus continues to fix these bugs and pushes out Open Beta builds for OnePlus 8 devices every so often. In early February, we saw the OxygenOS 11 Open Beta 6 for OnePlus 8 and OnePlus 8 Pro rolling out.
This build brought with it the January patch, Dock to Shelf, fixed browser crash, Gaming Space notification among many more fixes.
Almost exactly a month later, OnePlus is at it again with the rollout of the Android 11-based OxygenOS 11 Open Beta 7 build for the OnePlus 8 and OnePlus 8 Pro.
This build brings with it a few fixes, adjustments and optimization to the OnePlus 8 devices, along with the updated February 2021 security patch. Below is the changelog.
-Adjusted the layout of the emergency rescue in the password lock screen
-Fixed the issue that the Horizon light has a small probability of failing to turn on
-Updated Android Security Patch to 2021.02
-Optimized the stability
As the company continues to work on stable builds for its older flagships, the OnePlus 7 and OnePlus 6 series of devices, it is reassuring to see fixes coming through for the top-tier OnePlus 8.
As usual, this OxygenOS 11 Open Beta 7 build will be rolling out to users in the Open Beta channel before later being available to more users of the OnePlus 8 and 8 Pro on the Stable release channel.
