Original story (published on October 16, 2020) follows:

The Pocophone F1, sold in India as the Poco F1, has had a pretty decent run since its debut back in 2018. The first device from Xiaomi’s sub-brand, Poco, has recently bagged the much-awaited MIUI 12 update.

The journey to this build has not been smooth. Users have been subjected to long waits, conflicting reports from the company among many other twists and turns. Check out our detailed coverage of this.

Mark you, the current build MIUI 12.0.2 is a re-release over the initial rollout, MIUI 12.0.1. That build was scrapped over a couple of bugs and issues, some that we’ve covered here.

We know that no piece of software is perfect. And unfortunately, the same applies to Xiaomi and this new build of MIUI 12 for the Poco F1. A few issues have continued to crop up, even after this bug-fix update.

This post is set to highlight some of the issues that users of MIUI 12 on Poco F1/Pocophone F1 have been facing.

Users of the Poco F1 running MIUI 12 are reporting being unable to record slow-motion videos on their devices.

This issue has since been reported to Xiaomi and we’re awaiting official acknowledgment and a way forward.

Another bug being reported has to do with the overheating when recording 4K video that reportedly caused the MIUI 12 update to be delayed.

We’ve talked about this persistent issue here and at the time of writing, we hadn’t received any communication from Xiaomi on the same.

The number of affected users continues to rise (1,2,3) and this could indeed be a resurgence of the same old issue.

Some other problems reported include rapid battery drains, laggy animations, issues with touch responsiveness among others.

Below are some other bug reports we came across:
