The Xiaomi Redmi Note 8 Pro received the stable MIUI 12 update roughly a month ago in China. Following suit, Xiaomi then released the update for the Global variants of the device. And it had also released the stable MIUI 12 update in India.

However, the MIUI 12 update for the Redmi Note 8 Pro in India was only available to a limited number of users. And to shed some light on why the update was still not available after many days of the initial release, we rounded up details regarding the matter that you can read here.

Apart from India, the update was also set to release in Indonesia this month. Matter of fact, the update did release in Indonesia, however, Xiaomi had made no official announcement at the time, suggesting that it was only available to a limited number of users.

But now, Redmi Note 8 Pro users in India and Indonesia can finally rejoice since the company has officially announced the release of the MIUI 12 update in both regions. Therefore, users should begin to receive an OTA package that brings along the new MIUI 12 skin from Xiaomi.

The update is rolling out with software version 12.0.1.0.QGGINXM in India whereas it comes as version 12.0.1.0.QGGIDXM in Indonesia. The update changelog for both countries is nearly identical, however, there are a two additions for the Indonesian variant that we have listed below:

Updated Android Security Patch to July 2020. Increased system security.
Fix: Emergency broadcast info wasn’t displayed correctly

Like all airborne updates, this too won’t be available to all users at the same time. Therefore, you may have to wait a few hours or even a couple of days before the OTA package arrives on your device. If you aren’t willing to wait for the update, you can download it manually via the links below:

With that out of the way, it appears that Xiaomi has also released the MIUI 12 update for the Mi Note 3. The device is picking up the new update in China as version 12.0.1.0.PCHCNXM. The update is based on Android Pie instead of Android 10. You can download it manually via the link below:

Update 1 (September 08)

IST 06:41 pm: It seems that with the recent MIUI 12 update for the Redmi Note 8 Pro, Xiaomi has finally added the AptX, AptX HD, and AptX Adaptive Bluetooth codecs that were previously missing from the device. To know more, head here.

IST 01:18 pm: It seems that some Redmi Note 8 Pro users aren’t able to access the Storage details page in the settings menu after updating to MIUI 12. Fortunately, a mod states that a fix for the issue is in the works. More details here.

IST 07:16 pm: Xiaomi has now released the stable MIUI 12 update for the Global variants of the Mi Note 3. The update comes as version 12.0.1.0.PCHMIXM, up from version 11.0.5.0.PCHMIXM. You can manually download it via the link below:
