New updates are being added at the bottom of this story…….

Original story (published on August 17, 2020) follows:

The Xiaomi Mi 9 SE was part of the first batch of devices scheduled to receive the MIUI 12 update after it was announced in China. The phone launched last year running Android 9 Pie alongside MIUI 10.3.3 onboard and has since then picked up the Android 10 update.

Prior to that, the device also grabbed the MIUI 11 update which was based on Android Pie itself. And towards the tail end of last month, the Xiaomi Mi 9 SE picked up the stable MIUI 12 update. However, the update was not made available to Mi 9 SE units in all regions. Instead the update released for units sold in China.

Therefore, Mi 9 SE users in other regions have still been waiting for Xiaomi to begin rolling out the stable update on their devices. Thankfully, it seems the wait is now over for many users because the stable MIUI 12 update for the Mi 9 SE has begun rolling out to Global and European variants.
