[Update: July 14] Xiaomi MIUI 12 update full release for Mi 9, Mi 9T, Mi 9T Pro, Redmi K20 & Redmi K20 Pro starts, all units should get it soon

New updates are being added at the bottom of this story…….

Original story (published on July 1, 2020) follows:

Xiaomi has started rolling out the stable MIUI 12 update widely across the globe. The first units to get the update are the Mi 9, Mi 9T, Mi 9T Pro, Redmi K20, and Redmi K20 Pro, just as it was promised in the official global roadmap.

We already knew about the release of the stable MIUI 12 update for these devices from our previous coverage. The Mi 9 and Mi 9T Pro got it first, with the Redmi K20 in India following suit not long after.

This rollout, however, was limited to a few users in what was meant to test the waters before a wider rollout. Going by the official announcement by Xiaomi on Twitter, it seems the company is satisfied with the test results and now the wider rollout is on.

Apparently, the stable MIUI 12 update is now rolling out to the Mi 9, Mi 9T, Mi 9T Pro, Redmi K20 and Redmi K20 Pro. Interestingly, Xiaomi doesn’t mention whether these updates are available for all regional MIUI ROMs.

This is especially because not long ago, reports emerged that the European variant of the Mi 9T was receiving MIUI 11-based May patch at a time when its Mi 9T Pro counterpart was picking up the stable MIUI 12 update in the same region.

Since the update is OTA, it will take some time before all eligible handsets pick up the incoming MIUI 12 update. As usual, we will keep an eye on the developments and update this article with the download links for various regions once we get them.

      Update 1 (July 2, 2020)

The Redmi K20 Pro in India is now receiving the stable MIUI 12 update on a wider scale. See the full story here.

      Update 2 (July 9, 2020)

The global Xiaomi Mi 9 is now receiving the stable MIUI 12 update on a wider scale.

      Update 3 (July 13, 2020)

Folks in India can now download and install the stable MIUI 12 update on the Redmi K20 on a wider scale. See the full story here.

      Update 4 (July 14, 2020)

The stable update to MIUI 12 for the Mi 9T is yet to hit many global and European units. Head here for further coverage.
