Be it the brand value, market share or the fan base, the BBK Electronics owned Vivo isn’t as popular as the company’s other ventures namely OnePlus, Realme and Oppo. But when it comes to the Asian market, Vivo holds up well and is among the top 10 smartphone vendors.

Just like users from other OEMs, Vivo smartphone users have also been curious about when is the Android 10-based Funtouch OS 10 going to make it to their units. The demand has skyrocketed as Android 10 is yet to hit majority Vivo devices.

Recently, we highlighted that Vivo Z1 Pro along with some others may get to experience Android 10 during the month of June. And it looks like, the wait is finally over as it’s already happening. Yes, the Android 10-based Funtouch OS 10 update is reportedly making way to the Z1 Pro devices, at least in India.

Landing as Funtouch OS rev6.9.11, weighing at around 3.1GB, the update should bring along the Android 10 goodies like revamped UI design, new navigation gestures, native screen recording, improved privacy controls, Digital Wellbeing, system-wide dark mode, and more.

It goes without saying, the updates are pushed over-the-air in batches and take some time to make it to all units. You can manually check for the update by heading to Settings>> System>>Software update>> Check for updates. If there’s a new notification, you know what to do next, right?

Vivo India says the update is in testing mode so it’ll will take time to hit all units:

We truly understand your concern, we have released Android 10 for vivo Z1Pro & it’s in testing mode. Kindly wait for sometime, you will get the notification automatically in your handset for the soon.

Update 2 (July 10)

Going by the latest reports doing rounds on Twitter, the stable Android 10 update (Funtouch OS 10) is now rolling out widely to more users across India.

The company has still not released the stable Android 10 update for the Vivo Z1 Pro. Apparently, the Android 10 update is still under greyscale testing according to Vivo. Furthermore, the company has not provided an ETA for the stable update. See the full story here.

Update 6 (September 04)

IST 07:00 pm: It seems that Vivo has re-released the stable Android 10 update for the Vivo Z1Pro. The update is rolling out as version 6.10.5 and weighs in at 144.72 MB for users who are already on Android 10 and 3.1GB for users coming from Android 9 Pie.
