The smartphone industry looks vastly different today than it did just a few years ago. Sony, and HTC used to be the kings in this scene. Those days seem long gone today. However, Sony still chugs along, still trying to update its devices in the market to newer build of Android like Android 10.
The Sony Xperia 10 and its beefier, bigger brother, the Xperia 10 Plus were unveiled back in February 2019 and were powered by Qualcomm’s mid-range 630 series chipset.
While many of the other devices from the era have already been updated to Android 10, Sony is only now coming around to updating these devices to Android 10. According to reports, the Android 10 update for the Sony Xperia 10 and Xperia 10 Plus with Firmware version number 53.1.A.2.2 has started rolling out to devices.
Not much is known about the changes that this update brings to the Xperia 10 and Xperia 10 Plus but we presume it brings most of the Android 10 features to the two devices.
The update should start hitting eligible devices shortly seeing as the update has already been reflected on the two devices’ support pages.
With this update, the Xperia 10 and the Xperia 10 Plus join the list of other Sony devices h]that have already received the update to Android 10. These devices include the likes of the;
The smartphone industry today is brutal. We have seen giants like HTC and Sony decimated. Others like Motorola are barely hanging in there. We can only hope for a comeback by some if these old-school brands that we’ve come to love.

The Android 10 update for the Xperia 10 Plus is now live for devices in Lithuania.
Update 2 (May 21)
The update to Android 10 for the Xperia 10 is now live in Ireland.
