This story is being continuously updated…. New updates are being added at the bottom…..
Original story (from April 11) follows:
It’s been a year since the launch of the Oppo Reno 10x Zoom smartphone by the Chinese smartphone manufacturer. Although the VoWiFi feature is not new and has been around for sometime now, Oppo is yet to fully make this feature available for its eligible devices.
Just to recall, VoWiFi makes use of your WiFi connection to connect calls instead of your regular mobile network (whenever available), in order to improve the call quality.
Oppo has already confirmed that the ColorOS 7 (Android 10) update for the Oppo F11 Pro will bring the VoWiFi (WiFi Calling) feature.
But, even after receiving the stable ColorOS 7 (Android 10) update in China, surprisingly, the Oppo Reno 10x Zoom has missed out on the VoWiFi (WiFi calling) feature.
Matter of fact, the Oppo Reno2 Z has also picked up the VoWiFi (WiFi Calling) support for the Jio and Airtel networks, while on the other hand, Oppo Reno 10x Zoom users were waiting for the VoWiFi feature to hit their units.
Cut to now, as per the latest development, Oppo customer support on Twitter has confirmed that the VoWiFi (WiFi Calling) feature will arrive on the Reno 10x Zoom device via a future software update.
Answering a query by one of the Reno 10x Zoom users, the official Twitter handle of Oppo Customer Care replied:
we’d like to tell you that with our future update releases you can expect the VoWiFi calling feature in your OPPO Reno 10X Zoom 🙂
So, it is now officially confirmed that the VoWiFi feature is definitely coming for the Reno 10x Zoom via a future update and we expect that it might arrive with the security patch. We will keep you posted about that.
Update 1 (May 04)
While reverting back to a user, the support recently said, the exact date for the arrival of the VoWiFi support on the Reno 10x Zoon isn’t known yet.
the exact release date of the VoWiFi feature for OPPO Reno 10x Zoom is unconfirmed as of now.
Update 2 (June 1)
The May security patch for the Reno 10x Zoom brings in VoWifi calling support. Head here for more coverage.
