Original story (published on March 24) follows:

With less than two years in business, Realme already has more than 25 smartphones to its name. Most of them are sold in India, which is the company’s market stronghold.

It started with a heavy focus on the budget segment, but with influence growing steadily, the company has now moved into higher echelons with devices like the Realme X2, Realme X2 Pro as well as the newer Realme X50 5G and Realme X50 Pro 5G.

Unlike the latter 5G duo that come pre-installed with Realme UI based on Android 10, though, the former X2 pair runs on the older Android Pie out of the box. On the brighter side, the duo is in line for an update to Android 10, but when?

This is the question many owners of the Realme X2 and X2 Pro are asking Realme support on Twitter.

Realme make us fool…. Almost half of the March has gone but they do not provide the realme UI update in realme x2 pro…

The company had promised to provide the stable version of the OS for the X2 Pro in mid-March and for the standard X2 in late March, about this time.

But as of this writing, there is no sign of a stable rollout on either device. Matter of fact, Realme support is still directing owners of the two devices to get into the ongoing public beta testing program if they wish to get an early look into what Realme UI has in store.

Both Realme X2 and X2 Pro have been testing the public beta version of Realme UI for over a week now and despite missing the deadline for the latter device, the company still wants you to try the beta version instead of waiting for the stable version.

Does that mean the stable version isn’t any close to rolling out? Probably. But again, when pressed for more info by unhappy Realme X2 and X2 Pro owners, support goes on to assure them that the rollout is still on course for this month.

Hey, we will soon be releasing the realme UI update for realme X2 devices. Stay tuned!

Even though Realme support seems to be giving some assurances regarding the availability of Realme X2 and Realme X2 Pro Realme UI update this month, it’s worth remembering that this is the same support that promised a mid-March release date for the X2 Pro Android 10 update.

The pair recently picked up a new update that turned out to be a mere March security patch based on Android Pie, implying that the wait was still on. But for how long, no one knows the truth. On the brighter side, Realme still has a week to deliver on its promise, so let’s hope they deliver.
