New updates are being added at the bottom of this story…….

Original story (published on January 22, 2020) follows:

Realme began rolling out Realme UI 1.0 based on Android 10 to the Realme 3 Pro and Realme XT in India a few days ago.

The update has also found its way to the Realme X2 in China and is expected to keep rolling out to more Realme phones in the coming weeks. Since the rollout is airborne, it will take some time before everyone receives the download notification.

Matter of fact, OTA updates are usually staged, in that the software is released to a limited number of devices first for monitoring purposes. In case bugs are identified in the initial rollout, containing the damage would be easy since the affected number is small.

If no bugs are discovered, the software is released to the next batch. Depending on the number of units out there, the rollout could take place in several batches, sometimes even more than a couple of weeks between the first and final batch.

This should explain why some Realme 3 Pro and Realme XT owners in India haven’t received their Realme UI 1.0 updates. The initial rollout was meant for the first batch of limited units, with more expected to receive the update between now and February 7, 2020.

To make things a little more interesting, Realme is now asking owners of both Realme 3 Pro and Realme XT to put up their details on a list that will be followed when rolling out the stable Android 10 update to the next batch.

Apparently, submitting your details through this form before January 23 will earn you a spot on the top priority. This means you get the Realme UI 1.0 update on January 25.
