New updates are being added at the bottom of this story…….

Original story (published on November 29, 2019) follows:

Android 10 has been out since September and many phone makers have been running tests on their own skinned versions of the same. Samsung for one has been actively testing out it’s One UI 2.0 layer on the Galaxy Note 10 and the S10 devices.

The beta has been running for the better part of two months with milestone updates, all leading up to the big launch slated for early next year (according to Samsung’s Android 10 roadmap).

Samsung is committed to pushing out timely software updates and the company’s roadmap to Android 10 is just one of the many assurances Samsung users have.

Today we hit yet another milestone on the road to a stable build of Android 10 based One UI 2.0 for the Galaxy Note 10. Samsung has just announced a new beta update to this phone.

This is the third Android 10 beta that’s been rolled out to the Galaxy Note 10 since the commencement of the beta testing program. The second Beta was rolled out a couple of weeks ago and carried the build number ZSK8.

It is important to note that this update is only for the Exynos variants of the Galaxy Note 10 (available in India at the time of reporting). However, if history is anything to go by, the same will be made available to the Snapdragon variants in due course.

Changelog

The beta 3 update fixes many of the little issues that testers reported and is a more refined build compared to the last two builds. The changelog is as follows.

Bug Fixes

  • Issue of cutting time when setting World Clock in AOD.
  • Exception issue when pressing image attachment menu in S Note
  • Disconnection issue while using BT headset
  • After using Dex, certain icons on the home screen are framed and cannot be released
  • Problem that repeatedly restarts while the screen is blackened and blinking
  • The keyboard position overlaps the position where gestures are used.
  • Error in displaying SD card in My FIles
  • Operation error during event hover with pen in calendar week and day view.
  • Transmission error of sound through earphones
  • This beta build comes with the December 1 Android Security patch level so it is up to date in terms of Android system stability and security. This is one of the first builds with the December security patch we have seen. However, we should expect to see more and more December updates in the next few weeks.

Samsung already terminated the beta registration for new volunteers. Now that the Galaxy S10 is getting One UI 2.0 via stable channel, it means that development of Android 10 for current gen Samsung flagships is as good as complete.

As this update is fixing many of the issues that bugged testers, it might be seen as the penultimate update to the stable version of One UI 2.0 for the Note 10. This is in line with the Q1 schedule for the release of the official Android 10 update for Galaxy Note 10.
