New updates are being added at the bottom of this story…….

The Redmi Note line of smartphones has always been a favorite among many. A recent report revealed that the Redmi Note 7 Pro was the second most popular phone in India, and that was not a fluke.

Xiaomi has made it a point to offer incredible value in every phone it sells, and the Redmi Note family consistently hits that sweet spot between value for money and performance.

The non-pro version of this line is just as good and offers even better value if you’re willing to forego features like a slightly more powerful SoC or camera.

2019’s Redmi Note 8 is a solid device. Of course, it is overshadowed by its sibling, the flashier Redmi Note 8 Pro. But this doesn’t mean it is any less of a performer.

Xiaomi has been hard at work, rolling out MIUI 11 to its devices. Redmi Note 8’s bigger brother just got this update recently, and so did Redmi Note 7/7S with a revised build.

Today, owners of Redmi Note 8 (not the Pro version) have something to smile about. Xiaomi is rolling out stable MIUI 11 on their devices. This update does not bring Android 10 but still packs a lot of new features. This update is in line with Xiaomi’s roadmap for the rollout of MIUI 11.

It is important to note that this MIUI update is for the Chinese model. The Global/India variant of the same will be released later.

As you can see, the current MIUI 11 build (V11.0.2.0.PCOCNXM) is still based on Android Pie, which is kinda disappointing. We hope Xiaomi will rollout Android 10 alongside the global version of MIUI 11 for Redmi Note 8 in December. But I wouldn’t hold my breath on that one.
