Original story (published on September 26, 2019) follows:

Huawei opened the global recruitment for EMUI 10 beta based on Android 10 earlier this month, but this process was only limited to Huawei P30 and P30 Pro owners. A week later, the first EMUI 10 test build went live.

A week after the first Huawei Android 10 beta rolled out, Huawei invited owners of the Mate 20, Mate 20, Mate 20 Pro, Mate 20 RS Porsche Design, Mate 20 X (4G), Honor View 20, Honor 20, Honor 20 Pro and Honor Magic 2 to submit their interest to try the new OS ahead of release.

At the time, the company revealed that the recruitment program would end on September 24 after which the first beta build would be pushed to successful applicants. Well, the day is here as Huawei has started rolling out Android 10 beta to some of these devices.

If you own any of the Honor 20, Honor 20 Pro, Honor V20 or Honor Magic 2 and you submitted your interest to try Android 10 beta, the test build is now live and ready to download as Magic UI 3.0.

To receive the OTA update to Magic UI 3.0 beta on the Honor 20 and 20 Pro, you must have installed at least firmware version 9.1.0.152. For those using the Honor V20, you need at least version 9.1.0.233/234 while Magic 2 users need at least version 9.1.0.222/225/226 to get the OTA update.

Honor 20 and 20 Pro is receiving Magic UI 3.0 beta update with software version 10.0.0.145 while those using the Honor V20 are receiving Android 10 beta update as version 10.0.0.147 if coming from version 9.1.0.233 or version 10.0.0.148 if coming from build 9.1.0.234.

If your Honor Magic 2 currently has Magic UI version 9.1.0.222 or 9.1.0.225, the new Android 10 beta is arriving as version 10.0.0.145. For those whose Magic 2 units have version 9.1.0.226, the new Magic UI 3.0 beta is arriving as version 10.0.0.146.

Despite the differences in firmware versions, you are getting the same changes under the hood on all devices. However, it’s worth noting that the whole Magic UI 3.0 beta thingy is targeting Chinese variants of the Honor 20 duo, Honor V20 and Honor Magic 2.

At the moment, we don’t really have much to say about the global availability of Magic UI 3.0 beta, but history tells us that it should arrive in a couple or so weeks. We will update you when the global recruitment and rollout begin.
