EMUI 10 (Android 10) global beta recruitment goes live, Huawei P30/P30 Pro eligible for now
Google has ended a decade long tradition of naming Android iterations after desserts. There’s no Android Q, only Android 10 this time! The official statement says the omission helps clear the confusion about the name. And yeah, it’s officially out!
Xiaomi astonished their-own users by delivering the stable builds to Redmi K20 Pro on the same day as Pixel devices and Essential phone got the update. The customers enthusiastically wait for Android updates as well as latest security patches. So, Most of the OEMs aim to fasten the rollout.
Huawei phones come preloaded with their in-house skin EMUI. There is no denying that stock Android is easy to get updated to the newest versions. That means, Android 10 needs many tweaks to turn itself into EMUI 10.
The company has already started enrolling users for their beta program in China. As of now, only P30/P30 Pro users can register to get EMUI 10 beta build. In our last story, we told you they would soon expand the program for global users. And, they did!
Unfortunately, for the time being not all Huawei phones are eligible to join. One needs to have a P30 or P30 Pro. Moreover, having the phone doesn’t do the trick. There’s a series of steps that need to be followed so that you can successfully fetch the update.
First, you must download Friendly User Test application from here. After accepting the terms & condition on the app, you will have to login with a Huawei ID (create if you don’t have one). Then, follow Personal>> Join Project>> Available Project. Sign up for the one you see there.
Signing up doesn’t mean the enrolment is successful. You need to wait for some time to see whether or not the submission is accepted. Once they take you in, you will receive update notification when the package goes online.
After joining, your first question is going to be when will I get the update? As of now, we couldn’t pull out a credible tip on this. However, we saw an image circulating on Twitter. Take the dates with a pinch of salt because those may or may not be true.
What are you waiting for? Head over to the FUT app and sign up. In the meantime, you can stay tuned to our Huawei section for more related stories.
