New updates are being added at the bottom of this story…….

Original story (published on October 12, 2019) follows:

Android 10 is now available for many devices, and there are several more devices to get added to the list. OEMs are evaluating the devices in their portfolio that fits the bill for getting the Android 10 update.

Huawei recently came up with the Mate 30 series devices that run on EMUI 10 which is based on Android 10. Moreover, it is using the Huawei Services Core instead of Google Services Core.

Note that the Mate 30 series devices do not come with any of the Google Apps and services pre-installed. Besides, Huawei has recently announced its update plan for the EMUI 10 update rollout.

Following this, its sub-brand, Honor has also officially revealed the EMUI 10 update plans for the Honor devices. You can check out the list of devices below:

For your convenience, here’s a translated version of the EMUI 10 update schedule on Honor phones:

But, in a recent development, out of curiosity, when users asked the Huawei officials whether the Honor Play and the Honor 9 Lite will get the Android 10 based on EMUI 10 then, Huawei commented:

Dear Fan,

Thank you for showing your interest for EMUI 10. We would like to inform you that our software team is rigorously working and evaluating the device hardware compatibility of EMUI 10 Operating System with your device. We request you to kindly stay tuned to our official pages, HiCare App for future announcements on software updates. We appreciate your understanding and patience.

Notably, the two devices were not listed in Honor’s official list for devices that will receive the Android 10 update.

But, taking a loot at the response, the company is evaluating the devices and it fits the bill then, the EMUI 10 will be soon made available for Honor Play and Honor 9 lite.

To recall, the Honor Play was released in 2018 and the Honor 9 Lite in 2017. It looks a bit difficult for the Honor 9 Lite to receive the latest Android 10 based EMUI 10 as it is a fairly old device. However, nothing can be said until some concrete information comes up.

We will keep you in the loop regarding this, once we have some reliable sources and information.

Update 1 (October 18, 2019)
