The main highlight of the device is the triple-camera setup at the rear that houses 25MP + 8MP (ultra wide) + 5MP (depth sensor) cameras. Considering the price of the device, the Samsung Galaxy A50 does pack some exciting processor and features.

In a recent development, Samsung Galaxy A50 is now getting the August security update with touchscreen, moisture detection & Knox Guard improvements. The update is being pushed out by Samsung via OTA and will soon all the Galaxy A50 devices.

This new update carries the firmware version A505GNDXU3ASH4 and is currently available for device users in the Philippines region, considering the patch is circulating to A50 device code A505GN. It weighs around 210.70 MB and brings in new improvements along with the security update.

However, it is pretty interesting and always the case with Samsung that they lag behind a month in rolling out the security updates with more improvements. Specifically, moisture detection is a feature which is something that we do not see with Samsung’s updates.

Previously, August Security patch was rolled out for the Verizon Galaxy A50 which improved the security. Another update for the Galaxy A50 was rolled out that improved fingerprint recognition, battery performance and stability, and installed Snapchat as well.

Cut to the current one, it improves the overall touchscreen performance. The moisture detection will detect moisture inside the charging port, and if positive, the device will immediately stop charging. Also, the stability of the Knox Guard has been efficiently improved.

The update is likely to roll out for other regions soon. But in the mean time, you can always go ahead and manually check for it by heading to Settings>> Software update to see if your device has received the latest update or not. Happy installing!
