Pokemon Go: Jirachi special research tasks, stages & rewards for 'A Thousand Year Slumber' event

Mythical Pokemon Jirachi has finally awoken, and players can catch Jirachi by completing the special research tasks. Jirachi is now available to all trainers via Special Research.

Players who have already completed the exclusive Pokemon Go Fest Special Research and have caught Jirachi should also look to complete the new Special Research.

Completing the new Special Research tasks will earn them Candy to power up Jirachi.

Jirachi’s ‘A Thousand Year Slumber Event’ has been divided into seven stages. Mentioned below are the tasks that need to be completed to encounter Jirachi.

Stage 1

• Catch 25 Pokemon – 1000 XP

• Spin 10 PokeStops or Gyms – Jigglypuff

• Make 3 new friends – Feebas

Stage 2

• Catch 3 Whismur – Whismur Candy (10)

• Evolve a Feebas – 1500 XP

• Gold Hoenn Badge – 1500 XP

• Incense (3)

Stage 3

• Take a snapshot of Loudred – Snorlax

• Make 3 Great Throws in a row – 2000 XP

• Earn 3 Candies walking with your buddy – 2000 XP

• Silver Pinap Berry (20)

• Star Piece (3)

• Stardust (2000)

Stage 4

• Catch 50 Psychic or Steel type Pokemon – 2500 XP

• Power up Pokemon 10 times – 2500 XP

• Send 10 Gifts to friends – 2500 XP

• Premium Raid Pass (1)

• Charged TM (1)

• Fast TM(1)

Stage 5

• Battle a team leader 3 times – Kricketune encounter

• Win against another trainer 7 times – 3000 XP

• Win 5 raids – 3000 XP

• Ultra Ball (20)

• Stardust (3000)

• Rare Candy (3)

Stage 6

• Take 5 photos of Steel or Psychic Pokemon – Chimecho encounter

• Make 3 excellent curveball throws – Bronzong encounter

• Spin a Pokestop 4 days in a row – 4000 XP

Stage 6 Rewards

• Silver Pinap Berries (10)

• Star Pieces (10)

• Stardust (5000)

Stage seven of the event is yet to be explored, which will possibly reward players with ‘Jirachi’ encounter. Once you complete ‘A Thousand Year Slumber’ research task, a Jirachi T-shirt will also be rewarded in the Style Shop.

For a quick refresher, Pokemon Go Ultra Bonus event begins on September 02, which focuses on Johto Pokémon. Week 2 of the event focuses on the Kanto region and Kanto regionals Pokemon.

Week 3 of the event is special, as it will add Generation 5 Pokemon to the game. The Gear Pokémon Klink, originally discovered in Unova, will also appear in raids. You might even encounter a Shiny Klink.
